So my favorite CD of the moment is this little guy.

Tunstall is a Scottish singer/songwriter whose birth mother is of Chinese descent and her father, who she never met, is Irish. Interesting.

Influenced by people like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, and Johnny Cash she's got a pop-blues, alternative folk sound thing going on, and a hazy voice to compliment it. Nice.

"My songs examine and explore little specific emotions or situations or stories," she says. "They're kitchen table songs, like a conversation between me and one other person. I like the idea of focusing in on things we deem small and magnifying them to life-changing proportions."

My favorite song, at the moment, is Stoppin' the Love ... with Under the Weather, Other Side of the World, and Another Place to Fall nipping at its heels.
